Caring for Your Products
Product Care & Safety
Candles are meant to be enjoyed, but it's essential to follow some basic safety guidelines while burning them.
Candle Care
- Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always extinguish candles when leaving a room or before going to sleep. We recommend limiting burn times to a maximum of3-4 hours each session.
- Adhere to the 2-foot rule: keep burning candles at least 2 feet away from clothing, books, curtains, and other flammable items.
- Keep lit candles away from drafts, ceiling fans, and air currents to ensure the flame burns consistently in the center of the candle.
- Trim the wick to 1/4” before each burn to prevent the flame from becoming too large and to minimize excess soot or black smoke.
- Always keep candles out of reach of children and or pets.
- Place vessel on sturdy heat-resistant surface large enough to catch any melted wax.
- When burning multiple candles, ensure they are spaced at least 3 inches apart.
- Extinguish the candle if the flame gets too close to the holder or container.
- Never use water to extinguish a candle. This can cause hot wax to splatter which can be dangerous.
Concrete Vessel Care
To clean your concrete vessel: (Please note - concrete vessels are NOT dishwasher safe)
Here are some tips for removing the wax residue from the bottom of your candle prior to re-using.
- Coconut wax is soft enough to be scooped out of the jar (an old spoon can help!) With this process, the wood or cotton wicks will pop up with a little force. Follow up with a warm absorbent cloth or paper towel to wipe up the excess residue.
- You can pour warm water into the jar to help with excess wax removal. We do not recommend using boiling water as this can crack the vessel or weaken its integrity.
- Please dispose of unused wax in the garbage.
Wax Melt Safety
To ensure safety and prevent accidents:
- Always remove the packaging before use.
- Only use the wax in tea-light warmers or electric warmers that are UL listed and approved for wax melts.
- Follow all instructions that come with your warmer.
- Never leave the warmer unattended while it is in use.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Do not add water.
- Do not melt on a stove or in appliances not specifically approved for this purpose.
- Use only in well-ventilated areas, away from flammable materials.
- Stop using the warmer if the wax level is less than half an inch.
